Summer Vacations Announced for Jammu Schools — Teachers to Report Early

Jammu | 31 May

The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has officially declared summer vacations for all Government and recognized Private Schools located in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division. As per the directive (Order No. 186 – DSEJ of 2025), students will observe vacation from 7th June to 16th July 2025.

However, it’s not a full break for educators. All teaching staff must report to their respective schools on 14th July 2025 for critical academic preparations. This includes:

  • Readiness of schools post-break (cleanliness, infrastructure)
  • Development of Teaching-Learning Materials
  • Lesson planning and timetable finalization
  • Ensuring preparedness for online learning components like ICT labs
  • Teachers are also instructed to remain available for online student support throughout the vacation period.

The order sternly warns that any negligence or non-compliance from heads of schools or staff will invite strict action as per existing rules.

The directive has been widely circulated to Divisional and District-level authorities and will be made available on the official website of the Directorate.
