The woman, Sonam Raghuvanshi, has now been arrested for allegedly plotting her husband Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder during their honeymoon.

Sonam reportedly went missing under mysterious circumstances. Locals and guides informed authorities that she was seen walking behind four unidentified men, raising concerns. A formal missing persons report was filed.

A decomposed male body was discovered in a deep gorge below the Wei Sawdong Falls. It was later identified as Raja Raghuvanshi. Police registered a case of suspected murder.

According to Meghalaya Director General of Police L.R. Bishnoi, Sonam had allegedly planned her husband’s murder in advance, using their honeymoon trip as a cover. The assailants are believed to have pushed Raja into the gorge while trekking.
