Jammu, 20 May 2025: A wave of relief and positive affirmation is spreading among the dedicated AAYAs and Helpers serving under the pre-primary (ECCE) component of Samagra Shiksha across Jammu & Kashmir. The government has delivered excellent news, officially extending their valuable engagement for the upcoming academic session, 2025-26, ensuring vital continuity in early childhood education.
The Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, J&K, has issued a clear and welcome directive, Order No. 133 OF CHIRAG-2025, dated 20.05.2025, confirming the extension. This proactive step underscores the administration’s recognition of the indispensable role these individuals play in nurturing young minds and supporting the foundational learning initiatives in J&K’s schools.
The order explicitly states that the engagement of these AAYAs/Helpers will continue, being co-terminus with the academic session. This provides much-needed stability and clarity for the upcoming school year. The notification also mentions a standard, brief service break of seven days, a routine administrative procedure that ensures all necessary codal formalities are met smoothly, without impacting the overall extension of their tenure.
This extension is a testament to the government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and supporting its workforce. For hundreds of families, this news means continued employment and the opportunity to keep contributing their valuable skills to the development of J&K’s youngest students.
Project Director Samagra Shiksha, J&K, Bhawani Rakwal, JKAS, has overseen this positive development, ensuring that the necessary directives are in place. The order also reaffirms that all existing terms and conditions from previous directives (including Order No. 07-CHIRAG of 2023 and Order No. 150-CHIRAG of 2023) remain consistent, providing a stable framework for their continued service.
This move is a strong indicator of the government’s focus on maintaining and enhancing the quality of early childhood education by valuing and retaining its dedicated support staff. It’s a truly positive development for both the AAYAs/Helpers and the students they serve across the Union Territory.
