India, Mongolia Strengthen Defence Ties with Powerful Joint Military Drills

New Delhi, June 8 (JK Top News):
In a major step toward enhancing regional security cooperation, India and Mongolia have commenced the 17th edition of their joint military drill, Nomadic Elephant 2025, at the Special Forces Training Centre in Ulaanbaatar. The exercise is focused on non-conventional operations, counter-terrorism strategies, and simulated UN peacekeeping missions in semi-urban and mountainous terrain.

This bilateral exercise is conducted under the United Nations mandate, showcasing both nations’ readiness to address global security challenges. Indian and Mongolian troops are jointly engaging in precision sniping, tactical drills, and crisis simulations, aimed at strengthening operational interoperability.

Officials state that the primary objective of the exercise is to enhance mutual cooperation and combat readiness in real-world scenarios. These include hostile environments where international forces may be deployed for humanitarian aid or conflict resolution.

A major highlight of Nomadic Elephant 2025 is the emphasis on simulated UN peacekeeping operations, fostering real-time coordination, decision-making, and humanitarian response strategies. Such drills provide an opportunity for both nations to exchange expertise, best practices, and battlefield experiences.

Apart from military synergy, the exercise also promotes cultural diplomacy. Soldiers from both sides are participating in cultural programs, showcasing traditional music, cuisine, and martial arts, which helps in building long-lasting mutual respect and friendship.

This year’s edition marks a significant leap in the India-Mongolia defence partnership, reinforcing their shared commitment to promoting regional peace, stability, and cooperation. The lessons from Nomadic Elephant 2025 are expected to contribute directly to more efficient future multinational peacekeeping missions.

The exercise is scheduled to continue over the coming days with intensified activities focusing on urban warfare scenarios, hostage rescue simulations, and counter-insurgency tactics, further aligning with global standards of conflict preparedness.
