BGSBU Declares Summer Vacation from June 1 — But One Major Department Left Out!

Rajouri, May 30, 2025: In a major update for thousands of students and faculty, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has officially declared summer vacations from June 1 to July 15, 2025, for all PG, UG, and Diploma teaching programs — but there’s a twist that’s sparking buzz!

The Nursing College in Kishtwar is excluded from the break and will follow a separate vacation schedule, yet to be announced.

What’s more, the University has issued a strict new policy this year: No teacher will be allowed to go on vacation unless they complete their examination duties and get mandatory outstation leave permission. Failure to comply may lead to detention leave, as per university rules.

Teachers in schools with fewer staff, such as the School of Material Sciences & Nanotechnology, will follow a special rotation plan in sync with the School of Engineering & Technology.

The Dean Academic Affairs has ordered Associate Deans to submit duty rosters before vacations start, ensuring smooth coordination.

This new move is aimed at maintaining academic discipline during the break — but the exclusion of the Nursing College has raised eyebrows!
