Apply Online for Domicile Now Easier: J&K Shifts Service to Jan Sugam Portal

JK Top News

Srinagar: Great news for residents looking to apply online for Domicile Certificates in Jammu & Kashmir! The process has just been simplified, with the J&K Government’s Revenue Department officially moving the entire Domicile Certificate service from the “Service Plus” portal to the more efficient and integrated “Jansugam portal” (jansugam.jk.gov.in). This development is set to make the JK Domicile Online Application process much smoother for citizens.
This important directive, issued on May 19, 2025, by Under Secretary to the Government, Aflaq Ahmad, highlights the administration’s commitment to enhancing digital services and accessibility.

“We are directed to convey that the service for issuance of Domicile Certificate has been shifted to the Jan Sugam portal,” states the official communication.

What this means for you is that from today onwards, all new applications for Domicile Certificates will exclusively be processed through the Jan Sugam portal. Tehsildars, the primary issuing authorities, have been instructed to issue certificates only via this new platform. Crucially, the older Service Plus portal will no longer accept fresh cases for Domicile Certificates.

This strategic move is a significant step towards streamlined digital governance, making essential services more convenient for the public. The government has also urged extensive public awareness campaigns to ensure all citizens are informed about this procedural change.

So, for anyone looking to complete their JK Domicile Online Application, remember to visit jansugam.jk.gov.in for a hassle-free experience! Keep an eye on JK Top News for more updates on government services and local developments.
